Next-Generation Accuplacer
The main goal of Accuplacer is to evaluate a student’s current academic skills in mathematics, reading and writing. and identify areas where additional support may be needed. This ensures students are placed in courses that match their abilities, preventing them from being overwhelmed by advanced classes or bored by courses that are too easy. Scores help advisors guide students in building a course schedule aligned with their knowledge and needs
ACCUPLACER is not just for college admissions—it’s a tool for workforce readiness, helping students and institutions match the right skills to the right career path, and providing actionable steps to bridge any gaps.
Students are allowed to take the placement test a maximum amount of three times in a calendar year. Students must wait 14 days and pay a $30.00 retest fee for the second and third attempt of the placement test. This fee is payable at the FDTC Business Office or at the Testing center (cash only, exact change).
Tests are untimed. Average test taker completes full test in 3 hours.
- Students must show a photo ID prior to taking any test.
- Test takers should allow sufficient time to complete testing within hours of operation.
